    NRV Time Bank

The New River Valley Time Bank is an organization that connects people to share skills and services, using time rather than dollars. When a member provides an hour of service for someone, they earn one time credit. They can then spend this credit to receive an hour of service from someone else. All services are valued equally, and all members are respected for what they have to give.

  • NRV Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley is our local chapter of the international organization. Its mission is to build “strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.” It accomplishes this primarily by building homes for people in need, but it also engages both future homeowners and volunteers as part of the home building process to cultivate capacity in construction. Habitat also operates the ReStore in Christiansburg, which sells used furniture, appliances, and construction materials.
